Access

The instruments in the CMI are available for use by all HMS-affiliated academic laboratories.  Limited access may be give to users from unaffiliated academic labs and non-academic labs, at the discretion of the director.  To offset some of the cost of instrument maintenance, all users are charged access fees for training and use of CMI instruments.  The CMI also offers select Data Collection Services.

What is the "F and A add-on" charge on my invoice?

Users from all external labs are charged an additional Facilities and Administration Fee (F&A Fee) which goes to HMS to cover a portion of the facilities and administration costs for the CMI space.  We include this add-on fee in our published rates for external users, however PPMS invoicing separates this out from the base rate.

Fees

All users are charged fees for training and access to CMI instruments.  Rates are reviewed biannually and posted here.  Invoices are generated at the end of each month and managed by the BCMP finance department and Harvard Accounts Receivable.  Fees are determined based on the primary institution (institution paying invoices) of the user's Principal Investigator.

Policies

All CMI Users must follow these instrument access policies. Failure to do so may result in termination of access privileges.
